Dear sourav, migratory aptitude depends upon nucleophile character...Sulphur is better nucleophile than oxygen..so it will migrate

    eduncle-logo-app

    Option A is correct answer

    eduncle-logo-app

but why Sulphur better nucleophile than O

    eduncle-logo-app

Oxygen is more electronegative atom than sulfur. More the electronegative means that the electrons attraction tendency is more. ... Hence, removal of sulfur atom is easy. Thus, sulfur is better nucleophile than oxygen.

    phenyl better nucleophile than methyl?

    eduncle-logo-app

more electron rich more migratory aptitude

    eduncle-logo-app

    between ester and phenyl?

    eduncle-logo-app

sourav the migratory aptitude not strictly followed same for all the rearrangement reactions...for dienone phenol, for baeyer villeger

    eduncle-logo-app

sir what to do if some unknown species are compared for migration in those reaction like if we are given with ester and phenyl

    eduncle-logo-app

sourav migratory aptitude varies for different reactions and depends on multiple factors....so by practising individually different different rearrangements you came to know the difference in all the order in diff reaction

    eduncle-logo-app

    Sulphur has better migratory aptitude.

    eduncle-logo-app

    Mechanism will be same Sourav.

    eduncle-logo-app

Still if you want i will send

    eduncle-logo-app

why Sulphur has more migratory apt

    eduncle-logo-app

    Simply it is better nucleophile.

    eduncle-logo-app

Just like iodine is a better nucleophile than flourine

    eduncle-logo-app

is it bcoz S is less electro negative than O?

    eduncle-logo-app

    Yeah you can say it

    eduncle-logo-app

is there any other reason for it sir?

    eduncle-logo-app

I send the reason but it gets deleted 😔
