How can I use Mineralogy by Dexter Perkins for JAM GG???Pkease tell me which chapters are not related to ur syllabus?? It will help me as I can skip those advanced chapters!!

    I see now you have to do chapters 2;3;4 and at last basics concepts of 9 and 10 chapters

    for jam you have to read thourghly chapter's like crystallization from magma ; physical properties of minerals ; optical properties of minerals and at last basics concepts of crystallography from Dexter Perkins

    Can you please tell me the chapters which are really not related to our syllabus ....I am beginner so I dint konow what is given Inside...And I am unabke to find which Chapters are related to topics mentioned in our syllabus.

    For jam you can go through following chapters (rest topic like xrd belongs to gate syllabus specifically)- Like chapter number- 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 13 . This much will do for you and i don't think you need to read anything other than these topics... So go through it at least thrice and try to cover everything and then move to previous year paper questions related to mineralogy .

    Yes you have to read these chapters.... As Dexter perkins is the book that has to be completed thoroughly.... If you want you can skip chapters like 5,6,7,8 as you will get to know about them in economic geology and petrology in detail
