Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

Hydrocarbons are generated from kerogen. Kerogen contains long chain hydrocarbons and aromatic compounds. As temperature increases, the kerogen breaks into small chain hydrocarbons and releases gases like CO2 and CH4. The main process leading to the generation of hydrocarbon from kerogen is thermal maturation. Short chain hydrocarbons (C1, C2) become gaseous hydrocarbons and long chain hydrocarbons (C4 to C15) become liquid hydrocarbons. With increasing temperature, the atomic H/C ratio and atomic O/C ratio of kerogen decreases. Finally at very elevated temperatures, the kerogen completely gets enriched in carbon and becomes graphite.
