How degree of freedom apply here.

Sequence of crystalisation of liquid (D) in the another quartz system shown in the given figure, shows early separation of quartz followed by simultaneous crystalisation of anorthite and quartz at point, E. Applying the Phase Rule, PF C+2, one can infer that the degree of freedom and the variance of the system at E would be P- 1000 bar T4 Liquid T3 Liquidus Quartz T2 Anorthite Liquid T1Liquid TESolidus Anorthite+ Quartz SiO (Quartz) 20 40 60 80 CaAlSi,0 (Anorthite) Wt % snpinbrr

There are three phases present at E viz. Anorthite, Quartz and Liquid. This is a two component isobaric (P=1000 bar) system hence F=2-3+1=0. E is an invariant point. However P+F=C+2 can only be applied to the system which isn't isobaric. In this case not considering the system isobaric would yield E as an univariant point which is wrong.
