how the use of oil increases the numerical aperture of microscope??? and we know that maximum sin theta value is 1 then how the value of numerical aperture is increased by using oil??

    It happens because oil has greater refractive index than air. Refractive index is represented by "n". Numerical aperture is "n sin @" not "sin@". For numerical aperture we need to multiply n with sin@ so an increased value of "n" will increase resolution. Image is attached.
