I am here confused that why ethyne is less acidic than then nitro group hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group although it has 50% s character

Chemistry (Basic Concepts in Organic Chemistry and EOunce Q.6 COOH O NO 2 Moles A NaNH OH HO C-C-H The Product A will be Q.7 Arrange the following in decreasing order of their pk..

Shweta first we will check more acidic functional group here Benzoic acid is more acidic than phenol and phenol is more acidic than acetylene due to resonance. here only two mole of NaNH2 given he to phle -COOH ka H remove hoga because it is most Acidic among all. Next mole ortho nitro phenol consume krega because Benzoic acid se less acidic he. now ab jb koi mole hi NaNH2 ka nhi bchega to acetyle or phenol kya consume krega??

sir mujhe lgta ortho nitro phenol Jada acidic hai benzoic acid se kyuki no2 has more -i and it stabilize o-

No shweta, Benzoic acid is more acidic than phenol.. NO2 group phenol ki acidiy ko increase krta he but itna koi frk nhi pdta. check the data

    check it

we added two moles of nanh2 first it will take cooh proton then it will take Nitro phenol oh proton as ethyne is least acidic amongst all. cooh has the most due to equivalent resonating structure then nitrophenol oh proton due to strong -R effect of no2 group which stabilise the anion more and remember carbon acids will always be least acidic than alcohol and acid.

don't see % s character in acidic comparison we consider this effect at last. in acidity size, equivalent resonance and group effect are always dominant over inductive and %s character

Here NO2 group increases the acidity of phenol(left side) so 2nd mole nanh2 is consumed by phenolic group on left side

sir ehtyne poocha ki vo kyun kyun less acidic hoga

    eduncle-logo-app

Yha phenolic group ko no2 group jyada acidic bna rahe hai due to -R effect so ethyne se jyada hoga acidity

    eduncle-logo-app

and stabilization is more in alcoholic and acid group as negative charge on oxygen is more stable than negative charge on carbon due to more electronegativity of oxygen so conjugate base has more stability
