Most probably the answer would be lateritic bauxite which is sometimes referred to as blanket or residual deposits formed by the weathering of overlying sediments or rocks in tropical humid regions. While other deposits are related to marine realms or formed in sea water at various depths (nodules formation generally takes place in deep sea environment). While BIF formed around 1.8 billion years ago and these aren't frequent in the present time as they were in past, as this might be attributed to the chemical precipitation property of the sea having various minerals and elements. As lateritic bauxite is related to weathering mainly, so it will surely form in terrestrial environment. So correct option for your first question is (C) while for the second question it will most probably be (D)...
