If one mineral showing inclined extinction at 30°.then after how many degrees from the first extinction we expect the second extinction?

    Answer: 90 degrees Any anisotropic mineral appear extinct four time during a 360° rotation. If a mineral is extinct at 30° then again after 90° rotation, the mineral will appear extinct.

    Extinction is angle measured when both the polariser are crossed. 90 degree from the first Extinction means the reading on the stage which is aligned to cleavage at 120 degree .
