this is india's top IIT and very very good for for m.sc mathematics for pure as well as applied, but wieghtage of pure is more. admission in iitb is the dream of every Indian so take admission in it is not easy as you can see here it's cutoff for general: if your rank is under 25 then you have chance to take admission, last year this is 27. for OBC: 75 is the last rank.

it is very good for pure mathematics as iitb. 139,387 are closing rank for gen, OBC resp. for last year in 3rd list
ow many marks should I get for joining iit madras for msc mathematics
as difficulty level in paper is decrease as you see this year. one of my friend with 53.33 marks got 509 rank. if next year level of paper is like this year you need to score at least 62 marks to assure your admission in iitm, but as previous years 50+ marks needed. this data is related to OBC category. if you are from general then increase 5-6 marks in each.
but I suggest you that score at least 55+ marks to got iits.
