In this it is not mentioned it is taken in excess or not...but according to product given in the right side there is 2 bromine means dibromination occurs
These halogenation occurs by proceeding through formation of enol.
how enol will form.. there is no acidic medium
Here in basic medium halogenation occurs
in basic medium enolate is formed na.? but where is basic medium
It is clearly not mentioned is taken in excess or not...only product is given...ketone halogenation occurs in both acidic and basic medium....and this is the only way to halogenate
what is the role of ether.. it is neither basic or acidic?
Ether is weakly basic
so you can tell it just provide basic medium
