Answer: Plunge amount = 45° (towards west) The strike direction of the Sedimentary Bedding is towards N-S and dip direction is towards west. Also the dip amount of the Sedimentary Bedding is 45° towards west. Now, if a vertical foliation (plane) striking E-W will cut the sedimentary Bedding then intersection lineation will plunge exactly towards the dip direction of the Sedimentary bed. Also the plunge amount of the intersection lineation will be exactly equal to the dip amount of the bed. So, the plunge amount of the intersection lineation will be equal to 45° (towards west).

Thanks sir for quick reply. I got it😊

Intersection lineation will be formed by intersection of sedimntary bed and vertical foliation. Imagine a dipping plane and a vertical plane; the intersection of these two planes will be at some angle with horizontal i.e. plunging.

If it has asked about strike of the lineation it will be Zero degree ?
