Answer: 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/16 = 0.06 Explanation: Since the population has either males or females, the probability to pick a male at random will be 1/2. This event is an independent event i.e. the choice of male for the second time doesn't depend upon the already chosen man so we will apply multiplication rule of probability. Likewise for the 3rd and 4th time also selection of male will be an independent event so overall probability will be 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/16 or 0.06

Mam what will be if said two male and two female ?

then there will be total 4 individuals and out of the total 4 probability of choosing any male will be 2/4 = 1/2. See, here half population is male and half is female, it is clearly given in the question so you can take any value for total like 50 are males and 50 are females then total will be 100. So out of the total 100 probability of choosing any male from the population will be 50/100 = 1/2. They have mentioned it explicitly that males and females are equally abundant which implies that their ratio is 1:1 so total will be 2, it doesn't matter whatever the size of population you are choosing.
