in case of superposition of two simple harmonic motions where The frequencies are equal when the particle traces out the ellipse in anticlockwise direction so will it be called left elliptically polarized or right elliptically polarized I am actually confused about the convention used anticlockwise is left or right polarized

    If it rotates in clockwise direction it will best called left elliptically polarized and if it rotates in anticlockwise direction it will be called right elliptically polarized. See the attached image.
