option (a) is right answer. For differentiation of callus to roots requires high auxin and low cytokinin. It has been proved experimentally that auxin to cytokinesis ratio impacts morphogenesis. When ipt gene is mutated it leads to high auxin to cytokinin ratio which further causes root differentiation. But when auxin biosynthesis genes are mutated it leads to low auxin to cytokinin ratio which ultimately leads to the proliferation of shoots in the undifferentiated callus. When concentration of auxin to cytokinin is intermediate then neither root morphogenesis occurs nor shoot i. e. the callus remains undifferentiated.
