don't be confused. answer depends on what's your question asked in the examination. both BCC and SCC are correct. SCC is correct if lattice asked with respect to Cl ion while BCC is correct is lattice asked with respect to whole unit cell

Cscl is Bcc type structure... but if we see with respective chloride ion then it's SCC structure.

1st image is from kl kapoor book and 2nd image is from puri, sharma and pathania book...see in 1st mentioned is bcc in 2nd mentioned as simple cubic crystal...

You will get why I am saying this.

CsCl is a BCC The chloride ion form the simple cubic arrangement and the caesium ions occupy the cubic interstitial holes. In other words Cl-ions are at the corners of a cube whereas Cs+ ion is at the centre of the cube or vice versa

    no its scc

  • Suman Kumar best-answer

CsCl has a cubic structure that consists of an infinite chain of ions. The Cs (or Cl) ions sit at the eight corners of the cube and the Cl (or Cs) sit at the center of the cube (thus it is NOT a body-centered lattice since that requires the SAME ion to occupy the edges and center). The CN of both cation and anion is 8.

it's BCC type lattice in which Cs+ is present at the centre and Cl- is present at all the corners

    eduncle-logo-app

no i think its not bcc

    eduncle-logo-app

    I've explained

    eduncle-logo-app

many books have written it but latest is that cscl is scc

    eduncle-logo-app

    it's BCC

    eduncle-logo-app

    I'll send you image

    eduncle-logo-app

according to position of Cs and Cl it is BCC. and actually Cl forms cubic lattice and Cs+ is present in cubic void

    eduncle-logo-app

yes, both are correct but depends on what's asked in the question
