Is it easier to add proton or neutron to a neutral atom? Does the same logic apply to removing of particles? Please provide a clear explanation

    No, proton and neutron resides in nucleous of the atom. Whereas electron revolves arround the nucleous. Which is outer part of the atom. You can't add something in the inner part of the atom.

    So, can't we disintegrate a nucleus?

    That can be by done by nuclear fission. But proton and neutron can't be added
