Well, JAM also has many concepts from jee. But that is even less than the half of syllabus of JAM. topics from classical mech, nuclear physics, few parts of optics, few basic parts of EMT and thermo, only these topics are from jee. Quantum, mathematical physics, EMT Relativity and electronics, some topics feom wave oscillation, optics are all very different from jee. So if someone is too good at jee question practice then he/she may surely clear cutoff of Jam. But for securing a good rank( in top 100 at least) , you need to cover full syllabus. But surely if someone having good practice from jee prepare for Jam, he/she will have a very good base and it will be easier to cover the full syllabus in a very good way.
what about classical machanics only .....is that it much familier to jee ?
Yes. classical mechanics in jam is similar to Jee. except for only a few concepts.
