No, cut-off mark isn't sufficient to get admission in IIT through JAM. You should score higher than cut-off mark to secure your admission. If you belong from General category then to get admission in any IIT, your AIR should be under 175. If you belong from OBC category then your AIR should be under 150. You can get admission in institutions like NIT Rourkela or NIT Sivpur even with AIR-200+. But Instead of pursuing MSc from NITs (more engineering based institutions), you better look for central universities like BHU, DU, JU etc.

Yes, you can. After doing MSc from IITs, you can either sit in campus placement or appear for GATE exam to get into different PSUs and private organizations.

Hi Gurmeet, Central universities generally release their entrance forms in months of March-May. You need to check their websites regularly because due to covid-19 these processes may get delayed this year. GATE and NET are reputed exams; GATE generally allows you to get into PSUs and pursue PhD from recognised universities. NET is a central government exam conducted by MHRD which allows you to pursue PhD (with stipend of INR 31000) through prestigious institutions in India. For PhD through NET exam, you should qualify as a JRF (Junior Research Fellow).
