No it doesn't have any plane of symmetry or center of symmetry. So it is optically active

but in the booklet its answer given is that it is achiral

it has plane of symmetry, you can imagine if you cut it horizontally. its optically inactive

no plane or center of symmetry present

    eduncle-logo-app

for POS or COS molecule must have same groups and if we bisect the molecule or apply centre of symmetry than same groups must be present both the side at same position

    eduncle-logo-app

here only 1 Br is present so not it's pair is present so no chance for POS or COS

    got it??
