    Madhumathy, your 2nd reaction is right...Sodium borohydride doesn't reduce nitro group to amino group ...In 1st reaction LiALH4 reduces both NO2 group to amino group and CHO group ...

    It is known that solely sodium borohydride does not reduce nitro compounds under ordinary conditions.
