It was derive found that normal stem cels isolated from brain have a doubling time of 24 hours, whereds thymie 6 ed cells have a doubling time of 12 hours. Both these cell types were grown in the presence af radiodctive midine for 24 hours, following which they were grown in normal media. At the end of a week, radioactivIEy per cell will be a. double in stem cens as Compared to cancer cells. h. half in stem cells as compared to cancer cells.
