Explain formation of glycosidic linkage and Nucleophile attack at axial and equatorial position?

    As it has a double bonded oxygen there is equal chances of attack from ch3oh Hence you get two products i.e. Above and below position of och3

    sir but why in och3 there is one och3 in axial position at alpha side and why there is two och3 at equatorial position at beta position

    this maybe because of multistage reaction which is favoured by steric availability
