1. Barcode Technology : Norman Joseph Woodland and Bernard Silver, in US,1951, A first generation, "one dimensional" barcode that is made up of lines and spaces of various widths that create specific patterns. A matrix code, also termed a 2D barcode or simply a 2D code, is a two-dimensional way to represent information. It is similar to a linear (1-dimensional) barcode, but can represent more data per unit area.
2. RFID Technology : Ray Theories Ray tag, Mario Cardullo's device, patented on January 23, 1973, was the first true ancestor of modern RFID, ISO/IEC 18000 and ISO/IEC 29167 use on-chip cryptography methods for untraceability, tag and reader authentication, and over-the-air privacy. ISO/IEC 20248 specifies a digital signature data structure for RFID and barcodes providing data, source and read method authenticity.
3. QR Code : Denson Wave, The QR code system was invented in 1994 by the Japanese company Denso Wave. Its purpose was to track vehicles during manufacturing; it was designed to allow high-speed component scanning.
4. Biometric Technology : Sir William Herschel, Herschel is credited with being the first European to note the value of fingerprints for identification. He recognized that fingerprints were unique and permanent. Herschel documented his own fingerprints over his lifetime to prove permanence.
