The Simmons–Smith reaction is an organic cheletropic reaction involving an organozinc carbenoid that reacts with an alkene to form a cyclopropane.

sir can u suggest me any video of it

    ok sir

    eduncle-logo-app

    sir what is cheletropic reaction

    eduncle-logo-app

    and what is organic carbanoide

    eduncle-logo-app

    comes in pericyclic reaction

    eduncle-logo-app

means in the pericyclic reaction it is present

    eduncle-logo-app

these are cheletropic reaction. you will study in pericyclic reaction so don't need here

    eduncle-logo-app

    and about carbanoide

    eduncle-logo-app

In chemistry a carbenoid is a reactive intermediate that shares reaction characteristics with a carbene. In the Simmons–Smith reaction the carbenoid intermediate is a zinc / iodine complex that takes the form of I-CH₂-Zn-I This complex reacts with an alkene to form a cyclopropane just as a carbene would do.
