    Migration depends on the type of rearrangement reaction. The more substituted groups are generally preferred. relative migratory aptitude for alkyl substituents is Hydride >Phenide>C(CH3)3> C2H5 > CH3.

    These are different for different rearrangement reactions depending on multiple factors..In some case higher the nucleophilicity higher is the migratory aptitude
