    Copper has JTD so it can't do chelation with third en

    JTD ke karan Cu ke z-axis wale bond lambe honge & x & y axis wale bond chote honge. So it will form distorted octahedral.

    But Ni will form perfect octahedral. So it's K3 is High

    As copper II has d9 configuration...so due to john tellor distortion there is large difference in value of stepwise stability constant of Cu II and Ni II complexes....The shape becomez distorted octahedral and which is not occurs in nickel II complexes...So this devaition occurs
