(B) Only the carboxylic acid group is ionized. (C) Both amino and carboxylic acid groups are ionized. (D) Both amino and carboxylic acid groups are neutral

    At pH lower than the physiological pH or pI or in acidic pH, all amino acids show a positive charge which is due to the ionised amino group.

    Answer is (A). Only the Amino group in the form of NH3+ will be in ionized form at pH 1.5. As the COOH loses its H+ at around pH 2. Lowest being of Aspartic acid at pH 1.9 . So the 20 amino acids would have just amino group in ionized form.

    Option C 1.5 is very low, at this pH Terminas will be protonated as NH3 and C-terminus in COOH+
