Rate of solvolysis is SN1 reaction...and You know for SN1 reaction Rate of reaction directly proportional to stability of carbocation

    eduncle-logo-app

check for carbocation stability in all these compounds

    eduncle-logo-app

so what will be the order sir

    eduncle-logo-app

shristy with increase in ring size carbocation stability increases

    eduncle-logo-app

as ring size directly proportional to +,I effect and inversely proportional to -I effect

    eduncle-logo-app

and +I effect increases the stbaility of carbocation

    eduncle-logo-app

Now for tert butyl carbocation there is 10 hypercojugative structure...(9 alpha hydrogen) and in case of cyclohexyl carbocation(last one) there is 7 alpha hydrogen...

    eduncle-logo-app

    so stability order is 1>5>4>3>2

    eduncle-logo-app

but sir order given is 4>1>3>5>2.......and the reason given it as 5 member ring does not have any angle strain

    eduncle-logo-app

but i think my explanation is right...but again let me confrm shristy

Nucleophilic addition will be more likely at the angle strained species so the order will be 3 membered followed by 4 5 and 6

    eduncle-logo-app

but 5 member ring does not have any angle strain so it will greater than 6 member ring ???
