    Answer: (D) Metasomatic process is mainly responsible for the formation of metallic deposits on oceanic crust. Hot magma erupts along mid oceanic ridges and hydrothermal fluids related to metasomatic processes will give rise to metallic deposits.

    Formation of Oceanic crust is associated with hydrothermal vents and other magmatic fluids. this fluids either interact with the mafic magma of Oceanic crust and cause metasomatism or hydrothermal fluid directly percipitate metallic deposits. these mechanisms are main cause of formation of economics deposits of metallic minerals. e.g. metallic sulphide deposit are extensively form by hydrothermal vents.
