Optics consider two wave represented by two mutually perpendicular electric vector.....

I am unable to solve such type of question plz help !!!!

    Here is the further explanation taking option B in concern. You can clearly see, Obtion B will result in elliptical polarized wave. And as I promised, I have attached a diagram showing resultant waves in different cases of phase difference. Best regards.

    Option C is the best match for this question. even if Ax is not equal to Ay , then also option C could be the answer with some different slop. if you could solve the given equation of Ex and Ey, and the resultant is a straight line, then the resultant wave is plane polarized. Or if you get equation of ellipse, the resultant wave will be elliptical polarized and the same is for equation of circle(you get circularly polarized light). Best regards.

    in our case neither frequency nor ampliitude are equal so option 3 is correct.

    no interference will occur only standing will form. and this is only possible when frequency ana amplitude are approx equal

    we apply superposition principal when both waves are travelling in same direction but in this question both waves are perpendicular so there will be no superposition at all.
