Oscillation ripples are found generally in shallow marine Or waters (most probably to the beach environment). Actually oscillation ripples are probably symmetric ripple mark having a sharp, narrow, and relatively straight crest between broadly rounded troughs, formed by the motion of water agitated by oscillatory waves on a sandy base. They do form in subaqueous sand beds, but a waning current or fragile current will not be effective in this. A wave with much faster motion has to be th conditions for moving sand sized sediments. At deep sea, there is a turbidity current which have a large action on the sediments suspension and accumulation. Clearly in deep marine, not upto much depth, current ripples are form and as one goes in higher depth mostly finer sediments are more pronounced (just like a clay line exist in marine realm where below the clay line, finer sediments dominate in marine environment).

Oscillation ripple formed by wave action on the floor of a sea or lake. Such ripples, which are usually less than 10 cm in height, commonly display rounded symmetrical troughs and rounded, or sometimes sharp, symmetrical peaks.
