Effective nuclear charge of Ni2+ is greater than Co2+ due to smaller size of Ni2+ than Co2+. So the rate of exchange is slower in Ni2+ as it will hold the leaving group more tightly than that of Co2+. Cu2+ has the fastest rate among these as it is unstable due to Jahn-Teller distortion. So the rate of exchange is as follows: Ni2+ < Co2+ < Cu2+ option (a) k2 < k1 < k3
