ii>i i is less basic than ii because of pyramidal inversion. due to pyramidal inversion lone pair is less available

    eduncle-logo-app

    what is pyramidal inverseion sir

    eduncle-logo-app

This inversion is seen for amines and due to this rapid inversion the availability of the lone pair of amine becomes less. During this inversion the sp3 amine (pyramidal) becomes sp2 (planar) then again to inverted sp3 amine. The inversion is along the C3 axis. Example is given for ammonia.

2nd one is more basic.. Due to pyramidal inversion in 1st one...lone pair availability decreases so basicity decreases...but no pyramidal inversion in 2nd one
