    dim(V)= no. of elements in basis . Just add ' no. of elements in basis ' in your statement . Then you are correct .

    your statement dimV = basis of V....here dimension is a number and basis is a set ..how both are equal...so you have to do some correction in your statement

    dimV = total number of elements in basis of V eg- dimR3 = 3 it means basis of R3 have 3 elements but this basis is not unique. any 3 elements set which is LI and generates vector space R3 form basis of R3
