    first of all how can you say that both matrices are similar..... similar matrix property is " they have have Eigen values" you solve correct ....but here both are not similar

    if you apply row/ column transformation then Eigen values change

    you are trying to find eigenvalues by row reducing which is not a way to find Eigen value . eigenvalues 0 and 4 are correct .
