    so I attached this solution that if k lies between -2 to 2 then it has two distinct real root

    but that root doesn't belong to [0,1]. hence option B is correct

    no , graph can't be like this, here . Because there are only two extremum points [ f'(x)=0 has only two points ] , but in your graph there are more than two points where f'(x)=0 .
