    option B The reagent R1 is cold alkaline KMnO4​. It is used for the dihydroxylation of C=C double bond. Two hydroxyl groups are added on the same side of C=C double bond. The reagent R2 is per formic acid HCOOOH. It is used for the dihydroxylation of C=C double bond. Two hydroxyl groups are added on the opposite sides of C=C double bond.
