    yes, both are correct 1. alternating group An (n>4) is simple. 2. alternating group An is always a normal subgroup of symmetric group Sn. Alternating group An (n>4) is simple...means it does not have any proper normal subgroup.

    mam have u written by mistake that An(n>4) is simple..as theorem says An(n≠4) .......i have attached theorem

    n>4 means n= 5,6,7.....and so on....both are same thing
