Reacl solution of an alkali metal is favoured as a reducing agent than its aqueous solution because in aqueous solution on the alkali metal being highly electropositive evolves hydrogen from water while its solution in ammonia is quite stable, provided no catalyst is present

    Again you know in dilute solutions the concentration of metal ion is low...so formed ammoniated electrons are free and able to departs colour due to continuous vibration and show paramagnetism too.but when conc is increases then more ammonite electrons os formed so pairing occur so diamagnetic character comes

    Let me explain it one by one... See as you know the reaction of metal with liquid ammonia there is formation of ammoniated elctrons which is free...and you keep in mind free electrons is best reducing agent as whenever it attached to any group it reduces that group...so the reaction has reducing nature due to ammoniated electrons
