    Ans 4 (II,IV,VI,VIII) All carboxylic acids and phenols are soluble in NaOH. Because these are strong acids and forms salts with strong base i.e., NaOH

    The molecules which either contain COOH grp or OH group are soluble in aq NaOH. The solubility is due to the acidity of a carboxylic group or phenolic OH group which react with NaOH to form soluble salts. Thus, the total number of compounds soluble in aqueous NaOH is 4.
