dlcrence allows em to interconvert ence a rapidly. The relative number of molecules in a particular Conformation at any one time de- pends on the stability of the conformation: The more stable the conformation. the greater is the fraction of molecules that will be in that conformation. Most molecules, mation than in a gauche conformation. The tendency to assume a staggered contorma- tion causes carbon chains to orient themselves in a zigzag fashion, as shown by the ball-and-stick model of decane therefore, are in stagoered conformations, and more moleCules are in an anti confor- ww wi w w ww www

Yes, shweta if one conformation stability is more then fraction of molecules to assume that conformation is more

Gauche conformation is less stable than staggered and anti so less molecules tends to assume gauche conformation

It is about existence of molecule in its most stable form

As you know in newmann staggered is more stable than gauche.

we know that staggered confirmation is most stable and eclipsed is least stable so the fraction of the molecules in the staggered form will be greater tha eclipsed formed.
