PROBLEM 12 Explain why aldehydes and ketones react with a weak acid such as hydrogen cyanide in the presence of CN, but do not react with strong acids such as HCl or HSO4 in the pres ence of C or HSO PROBLEM 13 SOIVED

    In presence of HCl & H2SO4 enol & then again tautomerization led to the formation of ketone.

    But in presence of HCN , NaCN act as catalyst. CN- initiative the reaction. And once the enolate is formed it abstract the proton from HCN

    thk to hai and if strong acid rahenge to iske conjugate base weak honge then tetrahedral intermediate reh nhi payenge kyunki group easily eliminated ho jayenge and this doesn't happen in case of weaker acid
