    1.Quartz and Olivine never coexist as Olivine at the top of Bowen's reaction series and Quartz at Below. Also Olivine is undersaturaed with sillica and Quartz is rich in sillica. 2.Presence of water lowers the melting point of rocks. Water can also dramatically change a minerals melting point. If water is incorporated into a mineral crystal it acts as an impurity causing the melting point to decrease allowing the mineral to melt at lower temperatures.

    Q3 (Ans-C) Quartz and olivine cannot occur together in general because quartz crystallize from silica oversaturated magma whereas olivine crystalline from silica undersaturated to saturated magma. Q4 (Ans-B) Water dramatically change a minerals melting point. If water is incorporated into a mineral crystal it acts as an impurity causing the melting point to decrease allowing the mineral to melt at lower temperatures.
