    (D) Psychological or emotional barriers can also become barriers to effective communication. The state of mind exerts a great deal of influence over the information and its reflection. A timid person may not communicate efficiently. Similarly, a person in an angry state of mind may not receive the communication effectively. This kind of misinterpretation that arises out of an individualís moods, feelings or emotions are called psychological barriers. Some of the psychological barriers are

    1. Premature Evaluation : It means deriving conclusions before even the message is delivered completely.
    2.   Lack of Attention : Sometimes the receiver does not pay complete attention to the message as a result of which communication becomes incomplete and ineffective.
    3.  Loss by Transmission and Poor Retention : When communication passes through various levels or channels, this results in filtering out important parts of the information.
    4. Distrust : Distrust between communicator and receiver also acts as a barrier to effective communication
