look dear, you have almost 7-8months for jam, so don't be too panic to grasp everything, everyone take time to grasp new things, so according to me, firstly read all the subjects and do numerical in every topic, believe in ur study material and read it properly and learn every point of it, even then if u want to know something more in some topics ,u can go through standard books.. I also suggest u that do numerical of standard books too. after completing every subject, make shortnotes on every subject, try to make it very short so that u can easily revise it.. do some new problems everyday. Do as much as numerical u can and clear ur concepts... good luck..

Making calculation mistake is fine , it happens with everybody and will improve with practice and time .Also when we do questions in exam we are slightly more careful ,so there is nothing much technical we can do for it except practice being more careful and more numericals. Talkkng of grasping concepts and approach of solving numericals ,I would recommend following steps: 1) go through the text and notes you have of the topic . 2)make formula sheet and very small notes (1 page is enough for a topic), this will help you not only now but also in PRE exam revision. 3) do 5-6 examples covering each concept and type . 4) then always do some unsolved problems ,this is the real thing that will tell you ,if the concept is clear to you or Not , be honest ,if concepts are not clear ,go through all the steps again, this time seek some extra help ( may be a good lecture on youtube) . step 2 being my favourite ,bcz I believe this is the step that led me to clear my exam with such a good rank. These small notes let one revise a topic in few minutes and saves lot of time for numerical practice. best regards .

Always remember, “The expert at anything was once a beginner.” So don't panic about making mistakes. You have more than 6 months to prepare. Just solving questions is not enough, do read books too. if you have good notes, read them first. Or if you don't have one, I will suggest you good books for any entrance exam at MSc level. Griffith for EMT, again Griffith for Quantum mechanics (these are two different books with same writer). Garg Bansal Ghosh for Thermo and stats. Ghatak for optics, Ashcroft and Mermin for solid state, H.C Verma for mechanics. You just have to read 2-3 chapters of these books. All these books are available online. you can try "libgen.is". you can find all books here. make your own notes from these books, then solve the questions. and now add the new concepts which you learn by solving questions to your notes. Try to solve questions without loooking at the solution. but if it is totally new concepts, you can have a look at solutions for those questions. revise them properly and after having solved many questions, you can now make your shortnotes. which will help you a day before any exam. You can ask more books for different subjects too. Like Malvino is a good book for electronics. All the best.
