In the first case 5 bonds are possible. In the second case only 4 new possibilities are there since the possibility of the first residue and the second residue forming a bond was already considered in the first case. Like wise in the third case 5 new possibilities are there because the bond between the first-second residue and the second-third residue was already counted in the first case.
