The captodative effect is the stabilization of radicals by a synergistic effect of an electron-withdrawing substituent and an electron-donating substituent. ... These stabilization mechanisms lead to an enhanced rate for free-radical reactions

sir that means the compounds having resonance will exhibit this effect right

    eduncle-logo-app

yes and due to increased resonance structures this effect arises

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes sir got it

    eduncle-logo-app

sir in this how can we explain the stability

sir 2nd compound exhibit more hyperconjugation structures than first compund

    eduncle-logo-app

    more hyperconjugation means more stable

    eduncle-logo-app

Phenyl groups are excellent at delocalising a positive charge when it overlaps with its π system. In that case the cyclopropenium ring is too small and the rings are too large, so they have to twist out of plane and therefore conjugation is not ideal.so less stable

in material order was given wrong sir

now clarified sir.Thank you so much sir
