(C) The plane corresponding to 2 is vertical and the plane corresponding to 3 is striking E-W. (D) The plane corresponding to 2 is striking E-W and the plane corresponding to 3 is inclined.

    If a plane is Vertical in lower hemisphere, its pole will intersect in the equator as pole is always perpendicular to the plane,now when we look from top we will see the projection of the pole in the rim. Same goes for a horizontal plane,its pole will intersect the sphere in zenith, so when we look from top, the projection will be in the center.
