Q53. KCI has the NaCl type structure which is fcc with two-atom basis, one at (0,0,0) and the other at (1/2,1/2,1/2). Assume that the atomic form factors of K" and Cl are identical. In an X - ray diffraction experiment on KCI, which of the following (hkl) peaks will be observed? (a) (100) (b) (110) (c) (111) (d) (200)

please see attached picture.Actually , in cases of FCC structure, allowed reflections are either all odd or all even..Now here k+ and cl- are identical. So for Kcl having two identical scale factor follows reflection =2× (simple cubic reflection)= 2×{(1,0,0) ,(1,1,1)...}=(2,0,0),(2,2,2).... so here option (d)(2,0,0) is correct.
