Q69. A 10 V battery, 250 2 resistor and a Zener diode are connected in series such that the Zener diode is reverse biased. If the Zener breakdown voltage is 5 V, the current flowing through this diode is (a) 40 mA (b) 20 mA (c) 25 mA (d) 10 mA

    answer is option B : 20mA , the important point to notice here is that when zener works in breakdown region ( as a voltage regulator) then it becomes a constant voltage battery with opposite polarity ( n of diode becomes positive of battery ) ,also notice this is opposite manner in which a simple diode becomes battery when in forward bias. feel free for any doubts .
